
Thanks to everyone who made it out to the park on Friday. I was great to meet you and your babies. We had 6 weeks olds on their first trip to the park and one brave mama with twins. The crawling babies were fast friends sharing snacks and toys. Let me know what you thought of the class. How does your body feel?
Levi and I are out in California for a vacation, but don't let that stop you from practing Pilates with your baby. Here is a review of the breathing we worked on in class to practice at home.
Pilates Breathing
Sit with crossed legs and place you hands on your ribs. Imagine your spine as a piece of string being pulled long up to the sky.
Inhale through your nose to fill your lungs with air as your rib cage expands in to your hands.
exhale through your mouth as if you were blowing on a windmill. Notice the ribs deflate.
repeat 5x
Now move your hands to your abdominals and take 5 -10 more breaths.
as you exhale begin to pull the abdominals in and up.
Imagine your waist narrowing with every exhale.
Stand up and walk tall for the rest of your day!
